In this paper, a controllable electrically interconnected suspensions (EIS) system is applied to high-speed marine crafts. When a marine craft is at high-speed, it could run out of water, and its fall will induce high magnitude of shocks. The EIS system, consisting of two electromagnetic suspensions and a controllable electrical network, can reduce shock vibration transmitted to the equipment or humans. The two electromagnetic suspensions can convert the vibration energy into electric energy and be connected by the controllable electrical network. Compared with the hydraulic method, this system is easier to install and control in the high-speed marine craft due to the circuit connection, and the EIS system’s mechanical characteristics can be controlled by changing the applied electrical elements. The system can decouple the two degree-of-freedom dynamics of the sprung mass by using a special controllable electrical network, which can significantly simplify the vibration control. The simulation results show that the system can reduce the heave and roll vibration from the high-speed marine craft by applying different elements. The EIS system is easy to implement and control and has excellent potential in the future.
