             Axial flow fan, as a kind of fluid machine, is widely used in many fields of national life, such as  air conditioning and range hood, factory ventilation, petrochemical industry and so on. In the above application fields, high efficiency and low noise are usually two core objectives of concern. Therefore, based on theoretical research and numerical simulation, this paper has carried out a numerical study on the noise radiation characteristics and its generation and propagation mechanism of an industrial axial flow fan. On this basis, the main noise source location, pressure fluctuation characteristics of the wall surface of the dynamic and static blades and the directivity of far-field radiation noise are analyzed. In addition, in order to verify the reliability of the numerical work in this paper, the experimental test is carried out for the fan. The results show that the main noise source of the fan is between the leading edge of the rotating blade and the stationary guide vane. At the same time, in order to further reduce the noise of the fan, different methods of noise reduction are proposed in this paper, which provide a very valuable idea for controlling the noise of axial flow fan.
