Under the actual operation conditions of high-speed trains, the wheelset axle box is affected by the vibration of wheel-rail and bogie frame at the same time, and its vibration response contains extremely rich information. Grasping the vibration response characteristics of the wheelset axle box can deduce the service state of the wheel reversely, and provide the basis for establishing an effective wheelset state detection method. In order to explore the resonance characteristics of wheelset axle box, a new excitation model of wheelset axle box is proposed to obtain the vibration response of wheelset axle box. By analyzing the of the resonance response characteristics of the wheelset axle box and the main factors affecting the resonance characteristics, it is found that the natural frequency of the wheelset under the assembly constraint of the vehicle is reduced by different degrees compared with that under the free mode; In the case of considering the flexibility of the wheelset, there are two large resonance peaks in the vertical and lateral vibration responses of the axle box, At the same time, considering the flexibility of the axle box, two additional resonance peaks appear in the vibration response of the wheelset axle box; The mass of the axle box, the rotational inertia of the axle box around the x-axis and the center of gravity of the axle box will have a great impact on the resonance characteristics of the wheelset axle box, while the suspended weight and stiffness of the primary spring have little effect on the resonance response.
